Soil & Water Science: SSSA special pub #41

Another anthology from the Soil Science Society of America, “Soil and Water Science: Key to Understanding Our Global Environment” was fun read. It was a collection of essays as tribute to Daniel Hillel, which taught me something. If it’s been written before, it can be re-written. Now I should know this, since there are only so many love stories in the world. But “Dirt” by David Montgomery (2007), and “Collapse” by Jared Diamond (2005) were reviewing topics such as erosion of early civilization soils in written about  by Loudermilk in 1953, or overgrazing & salinization by Eckholm in 1976.

I’m starting to like these special publications
