Denver at Memphis

The Denver Nuggets went to Memphis on January 31st, and…well…had the lead for most of the game, but lost in overtime. Sigh. I like Denver because of Coach George Karl, they seem to be a collection of “some dudes” who play hard, UNC alum Ty Lawson, and their record actually improved last year after trading away All-Star Carmello Anthony. (Remember that remark…) Seems to me, like Carmello was an All-Star, but didn’t help his team mates get better, like the game was revolving around him getting his stats/points/highlights…and not necessarily the win.  (Another interesting thing, along these lines, last night Lakers lost to the Knicks…Carmello didn’t play for the Knicks, but some unknown kid had a great performance for NY. Does one need a super-star to win?)

Memphis, seems to have rising stars in Gasol, Rudy Gay, & OJ Mayo. Well, the rose to the occasion, and got the win.
