28 July, 2015

sunday, MyBetterHalf took MrG to Mariners, I tool MsS and MrC to Tour de Terrace. I learned, if going to a BBQ contest, don’t expect anything an hour before close. They sold out of $1 sample tickets, and only one place still had samples. Luckily, a few kind strangers gave us each a ticket and we had a bite of pulled pork. MsS thought it was really good.

MsS wanted to play one of those carnival contests…. And cried when she didn’t win. I hope she learned that those things are a scam.

We had an elephant ear, and listened to a blues band!

Previously, MsS went to cooking camp, and last night it was cool enuff, MsS showed the family how to make pizza rolls for dinner.

Boeing Creek Park

25 July, 2015

today, the children’s helped me with a second coat of white paint inside the shed. MrCuddles did excellent last time, and his section did not need a second coat. I told his older brother and sister to do as he did. It is brighter in there. Next week I plan to give the childrens many colors of paint and decorate as they want.

then, a birthday party for a new friend that MrGrunty made at camp. Yay, new friend! It was at Boeing creek Park, and started with decorating PVC pipe and then blowing foam darts at a target. Later, we all went on a walk in the woods. MrCuddles wanted to keep following the creek, so he and I kept going down stream. Sometimes steep, sometimes slippery, I think he gained some confidence on our walk. It was very quiet and green, mostly we only heard the creek. Lots of fun for MrC and I.

then, back to Tour de Terrace, to rides. MrC and I were with each other, we were lucky and from the top of the giant slide we spotted and waved to MsSqeaky, MrGrunty and MyBetterHalf who were across the park at the top of the Farris Wheel. He and I hung out…MyBetterHalf did the crazier rides with the twins.

Tour de Terrace

24 July, 2015

Mr Grunty and I went a couple of his friends to Tour de Terrace.

the parade was fun, we saw lots of drill teams, square-dancing to Micheal Jackson, rock-a-billy swing-dancing Christian youth group, Seafare Pirates, a lot of Camaroes,

after, went to park, fair food, cover band…MrG and friends got into large balls and then plopped into a wading pool and ran

Blueberry picking

18 July, 2015

Today, we took the childrens north to pick blueberries. They also had a bounce thing for the kids, and a tractor ride. It’s funny, I noticed other parents taking pictures, waving at their kids… While MyBetterHalf and I were chatting with friends. Ah, back in the days when we were young and cared as a stranger drove off with our kids who was fastened into an oil drum on wheels. Now, enjoy the silence.

After some play, MrG wanted to pick more. Go for it. “By myself?!?” Sure, stay on row 16 or 17. And he went off to pick. A bit later I joined him, and we’re we speed picking.

On the way home, all three of them fell asleep. Farm work is hard work.

Mr Cuddles stories

10 July, 2015

The other night I told MrCuddles we were going to the park to teach him to ride his bike. He also brought his three wheeler, but I told him “you can’t bring the three wheel. We are going to teach you how to ride a bike.” I’m so glad he didn’t stubborn & refuse.

We went to grassy patch by big-toy at TwinPonds. There’s a slight sloping grassy area, we started at top, I held him we coasted to bottom. Then I let go and he went a few feet. And I had promised him, “if you do 30, you can go on the path.” Soon, he was doing “30 feet”. I didn’t want to put him on the path. So he went off to play.

I saw MrGrunty climb up the outside of the slide tube to the top, thinking, if he falls, he’ll hit those bars before he hits the ground. (I am too old for this parenting thing.) “MrC, come here, lets get you on the path.” He came over… and was doing alright. By end of the night, if on flat, he can get himself going. Biggest challenge, him looking at me, or MsSqueaky, and then going crooked.

MsS and MrG did cheers for their brother at each of his success levels.

He was so BIG smiles his first time riding solo for a few feet.

At end, “as a reward, I will carry your bike to the car.”
He replied, “I want to ride my bike to the car.”

The next morning,I told them about concert that we we going to at a local park, they seemed to like the idea.

Mr Cuddles asked, “are they gonna go ‘obba-chabu-ckobo…’?” while singing and dancing.
me: “no, they are gonna go “chabba-ba-ba wabba-to” while singing and dancing.
Then he and I took turns entertaining MrGrunty & MsSqueaky.

FYI… three kids can eat ten eggo-waffles.

update #1 MrC likes riding…just needs to learn how to use the breaks. We’ve been practicing every night this week.

update #2. tragedy!!! There was a eggo left in the toaster!

So tired, but good tired

6 July, 2015

Friday, July 3rd… It was Mommy & MrCuddles Day, they went to the beach. MsSqueaky went over to a friend. I turned to MrGrunty, “you know how when we go to a park, I can’t play with you all the time, because I like to play with all my kids. Today it’s just you and me.” He dropped his video game, and soon we were doing hitting practice. Most of the time he hits to left field, I joked “you’re lining them up in a line.” We had teriyaki for lunch, and then a bit of tennis, but he was too hot and getting grumpy. That evening, MyBetterHalf went to the Sounders game. MrC and MsS went to their BFFs. Eventually, me and MrG went back to tennis court to hit with friends.

Saturday, July 4

MsS was in the Bothell parade with GirlScouts. I don’t think she saw me and the boys cheering from the side. We decided to finally take them to fireworks… Not Gasworks yet, because getting out of there is crazy, and we don’t want to be getting home late. Aquasox! With two other families, (each of my childrens had a best friend there!)… There was some bounce houses…and the game was slow, and the game went into extra innings, and we got home at…midnight! I enjoyed the fireworks, it was close, so there was minimal delay between the flash and the boom.

Sunday… I woke at 10:30! Oops, no Church today. It is so nice, the children’s were quietly playing, entertain themselves. Projects with Parents! ¬†MrC helped his mommy, while I took MrG and MsS with me to drop off old chemicals that we found in the shed when we bought the house ten yrs ago! It was very easy, quick, they took everything, including a leaky jug of blue stuff. The tech said, ” we try to make it easy.” And I love that, make it easy for people to do the right thing. Evidently the service is paid for as part of our waste bill. Cool. Then to a BBQ. Then to watch Women’s World Cup Final….uh…I kinda feel sorry for Japan. Then I took the children’s to tennis with friends.
