MrG and MsS and I looked for clay along the beach to write upon.

Later, when everyone else went back to camp it was my joy to watch MrC, by himself, continuing to work on their fort, adding sticks to the roof, collecting pebbles for a hole in one log, collecting shells for a different spot, putting on display a piece of clay that had “love Mommy” etched into it. He was so content, and so cute, in his own world, talking a bit to himself, not being distracted by siblings or friends.

We are with our friends from Yurt-Don’t-Hurt-2014. My favorite part today was watching all six children work together to build a fort out of driftwood. Me & Pablo watch, the women folk stayed back at the cabin.

Boy Scouts

Saturday morning, MrC went on a hike to the beach with Cub Scouts, he and his BFF are interested in joining.

Quotes: “I’ll bring the weopons” said one scout, carrying a near bow.

“If there’s a mongoose, I’ll take care of it” said another Scout.

“guys, I found a dead fish that has no eye,” said MrC.

Birthday weekend

2 November, 2015

Oh yeah…. I had a birthday recently.

on my birthday, I had a different flavor of ice cream from each of the childrens.
MrG gave me chocolate mint chip.
MsS gave me toffee crunch.
MrC gave me pistachio.

Then…a few days later we had parent teacher conferences…
MrG is quiet.
MsS having a great time.
MrC is doing alright.
Then, we went to a corn maze! MrC and I went off, quickly got lost, but stayed together, wandered around for an hour and then stumbled upon the exit and went to get snacks. MyBetterHalf, MsS and MrG were on a mission to find all six clues, they did.

Then, family Friday night movie…one of my favorites when I was a kid, the cartoon version of The Hobbit. Yes, still love it. The childrens seemed to enjoy it.

Saturday soccer. (Let me recap a bit of season, MrG is doing well. He’s making passes. He’s stealing the ball from other team. He gets complements on his fancy footwork. He’s made some nice shots, once, big kick, but hit the goal post, and the clang rang out loudly. I like to sit away from other parents, so I’m not distracted, so I get a better view, so no one hears my mumblings.)

Sunday… Worked with MsS on making a bed for her doll. We got wood, had to go back for screws, (important lesson of multiple trips to store for a project!) I started teaching her how to use a power drill.

‘Twas a great birthday weekend. Especially since leading up to it, I was getting Poor Me Syndrome, and being jerk to my family.

Yesterday, MsSqueaky’s team was playing.
MsS was a forward.

I was at sidelines, and had a perfect view of her, dribble down to the right, trick the defender, dribble left, and take a left footed shot on goal, that actually went in.

She was beaming, looked straight at me, ran over, and I gave her a high five.

MrG said “I couldn’t have made that shot.”
